Glorious 5 - Pet Glamour Shots, Fidget Spinners and Revealing Doodles

This weeks Gloriou5 - the most treasured finds of my rudderless voyages thru Al Gore’s fantastic universe of the Internet - features heart-warming pet and owner portraits, fidgety trinkets, soul-revealing doodles, and magical disappearing grills. And this week it’s brought to you by Swain Sinus Show. Yes...yes, we have sponsors and email me if you're interested in sponsoring the next Gloriou5 delivery. Enough with the shameless plugs, on with the Gloriou5 week #6 picks:

Fidget toys and spinners have exploded onto the pages of social media, invaded our co-worker's desks, and electrified the recent toy market. While this creative phenomenon seems new and innovative, it's actually grounded in a well documented rich history of fidget related toys (and not-so-toy-like) antiquities since the 13th century. It seems that self-soothing and gamify-ing anxiety and worry hyped products are cyclical, just like most fads.

In a world where more and more shopping malls are going out of business, I think more animal lovers need to help the local economy and patronage their local Glamour Shots franchise to finally capture that cherished 80s-90s era laser backdrop portrait with their furry or scaly soul-mate. Website pleated-jeans.com calls this blog Horrendously Awful Glamour Shots With Pets; I think it should be titled “Glorious Glamour Shots With Pets.

OK grill masters, just in time for family summertime grilling is the portable Casus Biodegradable Grill. This one-time use, outdoor and disposable grill is made with a special “Wolverine-like adamantium” cardboard that protects itself from bursting into flames once you light it up. How it works: pull back the cardboard top, insert the bamboo rack, and spark up the provided charcoal and lava stones. After about 5 minutes it’ll be hot enough to cook a full meal. That's one innovative and smart grill, but here is the kicker - it’s biodegradable. So go ahead and have that summer BBQ, anywhere you want (beach, hiking trail, tent, backyard), without the guilt of needless waste and not cleaning it up after use.

Price: $8.

We’ve all heard this old chestnut from our cynical bosses, parents, and friends, “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong!” Well, it seems Murphy’s Law is not a just an old adage. The historically buttoned-up and proper British Gas Commission has paid to prove Murphy’s Law with real science-y math (Sod’s Law). And, then created an algorithm tool to aid in small, daily, mundane, large or world shattering decision-making. For our convenience, Andrew Daviel has provided a convenient online Murphy’s Law calculator for any of us to easily determine the success rate of any activity whatsoever. Me screwing up this week’s Gloriou5 blog = 41%.

Yes, I am a chronic doodler (check out my SabbaDoodle site if you get the chance), it’s more than just passing time, it’s how I listen and process information. Well, it seems that Forensic Examiners say that “Doodling is like the brain’s DNA.” This doodle DNA can reveal personality inclination, basic behavior, and desires. Flowers, arrows, letters, faces and 3-D cubes say a whole lot about your hidden interior life and psyche. In the future, you might want to start hiding those scratches, sketches, and doodles that live in the margins of your books, memos, and meeting notes. They could be used against you in your next work evaluation - or murder trial.
